Ram charan's 'Merupu' in trouble?

Just a week ago, Ram Charan happily tweeted that his new film, Merupu , will begin its shoot from January 3rd week but the movie is yet to go to the sets. Buzz is that the film is unlikely to go to the sets if the director doesn't reduce his budget proposal for the movie. Dharani reportedly quote high budget for this movie and Megastar Chiranjeevi didn't approve it, as the movie is a pucca masala entertainer. With many films putting producers in deep trouble with the unreasonable budgets for masala mass movies, Telugu film industry has decided to be safe. Chiranjeevi reportedly said the director either reduce the budget or put off the movie. Although the film is produced by Mega Super Good Movies, Chiranjeevi is close to the producers and he approves all Charan's films.

Merupu was launched on April 30, 2010 and director Dharani also canned a song on Ram Charan. There was no proper script except a vague one-line order for the movie when it was launched. After the colossal flop of 'Orange' Charan and producers asked Dharani to come up with full script and the director recently narrated his storyline to both Chiru and Charan. Chiru Okayed the script but he was shocked to know the budget estimate.

If the film has to go to the sets, the director has to slash his 'grand plans' of production.
