South Idea Filmfare Awards 2009 were presented!

The year 2009, 57^th Idea Filmfare Awards for South were announced on Saturday night, Aug 7, 2010 in Chennai.The awards were announced in various categories and were awarded for Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films.

In Tollywood, successful director Rajamouli’s sensational blockbuster record making film ‘Magadheera’ starring Ram Charan Teja and Kajal in the lead has bagged six awards for the Best Film, Best Actor for Ram Charan, Best Director for Rajamouli, Best Cinematography for Senthil Kumar, Best Music for M M Keeravani and best male playback singer for Anuj Guruwara. The beautiful actress Anushka earned Best Actress for her performance in ‘Arundhati’ and Yuvan Shankar Raja won the special jury award for Siddartha starrer ‘Oye’.

While coming to Tamil films, Priyadarshan won the best director award, and Prakash Raj won the best actor award for the same film ‘Kanchivaram’. ‘Nadodigal’ fetched the best film award. Kannada actor Ambareesh and Malayalam thespian KPAC Lalitha have won the Lifetime achievement awards.
